A £10 million programme to help make the UK’s aerospace manufacturing supply chain more competitive was launched by Business and Industry Minister Andrew Stephenson. The programme was launched as he visited aerospace and defence supplier MEP in Aylesford, Kent. Along with other national providers, SMMT Industry Forum will help deliver the new approach, called NMCL (National Manufacturing Competitiveness Levels), which is part of the SC21 Competitiveness & Growth (C&G) programme.

Fiji Airways to Add A350’S to fleet

Fiji Airways is to acquire two new Airbus A350 aircraft later this year as part of widebody aircraft expansion plans. The new additions will be used primarily to service popular routes between Australia, Nadi and the US and are due to arrive in November and December. The planes will be leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise and are currently being customized to the airline’s specifications and painted in its arresting livery. They will
Boeing, Airbus Carve up Embraer & Bombardier, Chinese Aircraft Makers Still Learning the Ropes After a series of legal battles and political complications, it seems Boeing will finally be allowed to take control of Embraer’s commercial aircraft division. Boeing will pay $4.2 billion for an 80% share in the division. It will also have to finance a 51/49 minority joint venture with Embraer to help market the KC390 military transport aircraft outside
